After months of planning and excitement, our journey to Honduras finally began! Travel day went really well, with only one small issue—we hadn’t paid for our checked bags. Thankfully, we got that sorted out quickly, and the rest of the trip was smooth.

We arrived in Honduras at 11:00 PM, where we were welcomed by Meagan, our ministry host’s wife, and two of her kids. They were so kind and made us feel at home right away. From the airport, we went to their house and spent the night to rest before heading to our final destination.

The next day, we traveled to Blossom Creek, a coffee farm in the mountains where we’ll be serving. The people here are very passionate about their work, and I can already tell it’s going to be an amazing place to learn and grow.

Our main jobs at the farm will be:

1. Weeding – Helping take care of the coffee farm.

2. Teaching English and Spanish – Helping local kids learn English while we also improve our Spanish.

3. House Visits – Visiting families in the community, encouraging them, and sharing about God.

This first week has mostly been about getting settled and preparing for what’s ahead. We’ve started learning Spanish, and even though it’s challenging, I feel like I’m already improving.

One big adjustment has been all the hiking. The farm is up in the mountains, so we do a lot of walking on steep hills. Some of the communities we’ll visit require climbing 700 feet up, which is tough! We went on a hike this week, and I slipped so many times because my shoes don’t have the best grip. But in the end, it was worth it because we got to see the coffee trees up close.

This first week has been amazing. The people here are so welcoming, my team is incredible, and I’m excited to grow—physically, mentally, and spiritually. I can’t wait to see what God has planned for the rest of this trip!
